The SQL Backup Master main window separates the majority of the product's feature into three tabs.
•Backup and restore - Provides backup job management (create, edit, delete) tools, backup log viewing, and more.
•Tools and utilities - Used for update checking, license management, and more.
•Help - Provides information to help you make the best of SQL Backup Master
You can get started with SQL Backup Master by selecting the Backup and restore tab and clicking the Create new database backup button. The backup job editor screen will appear.
The Backup and restore tab of the SQL Backup Master main window lists existing database backup jobs.
To edit an existing backup job, double-click it within the list or right-click it and choose Edit settings.
To trigger an immediate full backup of an existing job, click the Back up now button associated with the list entry. Similarly, you can click the Recover button to initiate a database recovery. Use the Actions button associated with a backup job list entry to view the associated backup log, edit the backup job settings, or delete the backup job.
Each entry in the backup job listing exposes several fields:
•Status - Shows the status of the backup job, based upon the last time (if ever) it was executed.
•Summary - A brief summary of the data being backed up by this job.
•Last Run - The date and time the job was last executed (if ever).
•Schedule - A brief summary of the job's execute schedule (if one is defined).
•Description - The description entered by the user in the backup job editor window.
The toolbar on the Backup and restore tab offers the following functions:
•Create new database backup - Launches the backup job editor, allowing you to create a new backup job.
•Explore all database backups - Explore and manage (or recover) existing database backups.
•View database backup log - View and filter database backup log entries.
•Run all backups now - Starts all defined backup jobs immediately.
•Stop all backups - Stops all defined backup jobs.
•Sort backup jobs by - Allows you to sort the backup job listing by one of several fields.
