Follow the steps below to configure your Box account, connect to SQL Server, and safeguard your critical data offsite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>STEP 1 \u2013 BOX ACCOUNT CREATION AND SETUP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>On the home page of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.box.com\/resources\/dm\/ccm\/home?utm_source=Google&amp;utm_medium=SEM&amp;utm_campaign=dm-google-sem-na-eng-brand_field&amp;utm_keyword=box&amp;id=7010e000000xHUTAA2&amp;utm_content=457589517832%7Ckwd-10818941%7Cc&amp;gclid=CjwKCAjw7vuUBhBUEiwAEdu2pBakJR7RTxoursOlGdSRbk5NuLxi_wu-xZmwuju1l1brutHzayYyfRoCE68QAvD_BwE\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Box<\/a>, select the <strong>Get Started<\/strong> tab from the top banner and choose the plan that best meets your needs. Provide the requested personal or business information to finalize your account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>STEP 2 \u2013 CONNECT TO SQL SERVER<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In <strong>SQL Backup Master<\/strong>, open the <strong>Backup and Restore<\/strong> window and select <strong>New Backup<\/strong>. In the <strong>Database Backup Editor<\/strong> window that appears, click the <strong>Choose SQL Server<\/strong> tab. Common examples include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li><strong><em>(local)\\SQLExpress<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 Default SQL Express named instance on the local computer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>(local)<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 A local SQL Server installation without an instance name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Server1\\SQLExpress<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 A default SQL Express named instance on a remote computer named \u201cServer1.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>Server1<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 An unnamed SQL Server instance on a remote computer named \u201cServer1.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TIP<\/strong>: Use the drop-down arrow next to <strong>Server name<\/strong> to discover local or remote SQL Server instances automatically. Once selected, click <strong>Test SQL Connection<\/strong> to verify connectivity, then hit <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>STEP 3 \u2013 SELECT DESIRED DATABASES TO BACK UP<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After a successful connection, the <strong>Database Backup Editor<\/strong> window will list available databases under <strong>Source<\/strong>. Choose which databases you want to include in the backup job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TIP<\/strong>: Enable <strong>Back up all non-system databases<\/strong> to automatically capture any new databases created on the target SQL Server going forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>STEP 4 \u2013 ADD A BOX BACKUP DESTINATION<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the <strong>Destinations<\/strong> header in the <strong>Database Backup Editor<\/strong>, click the <strong>Add<\/strong> icon. The <strong>Box Destination Settings<\/strong> window will then appear, prompting you to authorize <strong>SQL Backup Master<\/strong> to access your Box account. Click <strong>Authorize Now<\/strong> and sign into your Box account in the new browser window.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You\u2019ll receive a unique authentication code. Copy it (<strong>Ctrl+C<\/strong>), exit the browser window, and paste (<strong>Ctrl+V<\/strong>) this code into the <strong>Authorization Code<\/strong> field in SQL Backup Master. Select <strong>OK<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TIP<\/strong>: Use the <strong>Test<\/strong> button in the bottom-left corner of <strong>Box Destination Settings<\/strong> to confirm a successful connection. Click <strong>OK<\/strong> to finalize, and then again on the main window to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, click the <strong>Save<\/strong> icon at the bottom-right of the <strong>Database Backup Editor<\/strong> window to establish Box as your backup destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><strong>STEP 5 \u2013 RUN THE BACKUP JOB<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the main window of SQL Backup Master, locate your newly created backup job and click <strong>Back up now<\/strong> to start sending your SQL databases to Box. If any errors occur, consult the log file for more details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the backup job doesn\u2019t complete successfully, review the application log file for error details or additional troubleshooting information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>That\u2019s it!<\/strong> You are now backing up your SQL database to Box.
