App protection

The SQL Backup Master application protection feature allows an administrator to password-protect the product user interface.

When enabled, any user attempting to launch the SQL Backup Master user interface will be required to enter the application protection password in order to interact with the product.

Important: The goal of this feature is to help protect against casual configuration changes and data exposure. Application protection does not provide strong protection against changes by determined users with appropriate rights on the host computer.

Note that the application protection password cannot be retrieved if forgotten or misplaced. Please use appropriate care to ensure that you aren't locked out of the application by accident.

Finally, the application protection feature affects the SQL Backup Master user interface only. Backup operations will continue to be carried out by the SQL Backup Master system service, which is unaffected by application protection. The product command line interface is similarly unaffected.
