BACK UP SQL TO BACKBLAZE B2
SQL Backup Master can be configured to back up your Microsoft SQL Server databases to Backblaze through their S3-compatible service endpoint.
Backblaze B2 Cloud Storage is renowned for its combination of reliability, simplicity, and remarkably low storage costs. By offering an S3-compatible API, Backblaze B2 allows you to leverage its enterprise-grade infrastructure using SQL Backup Master's versatile S3 backup destination. This provides an incredibly cost-effective solution for creating off-site backups of your critical SQL Server databases without sacrificing performance or durability.
To connect SQL Backup Master to your B2 account, you first need to generate a new Application Key within the Backblaze web console. It's important to note the specific mapping of Backblaze's credentials to the fields in our software:
- The keyID from Backblaze should be entered into the "Access Key" field.
- The applicationKey from Backblaze should be entered into the "Secret Key" field.
When you generate these keys, Backblaze will also provide you with a specific S3 Endpoint URL (e.g., s3.us-west-004.backblazeb2.com). This full URL must be copied and pasted into the "Service URL" field as shown in the screenshot above. Once these three pieces of information are correctly configured, you can begin scheduling automated backups to your B2 buckets. This powerful combination allows you to implement a professional-grade disaster recovery plan at a fraction of the cost of other major cloud providers.
